A Stream Of Faith
By Charles E. Westbrook
“The Lord is good and does what is right: He shows the proper path to those who go astray.” — Psalm 25:8
On the Gulf Coast, you will find a tall lighthouse along U.S. 90 which runs along the beach. I have seen it all my life. I still go by it when I'm in that area. It is still standing after Hurricane Katrina.
In the old days, when big boats and barges came through they depended on the lighthouse to get into the proper channel. That one lighthouse could be seen for miles. The vessels counted on the lighthouse help by day and by night.
Everyone needs a beacon to help us to get through life's problems. We can't carry on without some help. God wants us to let Him carry our heavy load. He gave a savior who will stand by us as we go through life; when we have burdens that bog us down. As we see the lighthouse, God has sent us help so if we get stuck on life's sand bar, he will send us a way to stay in life's channel.
That beacon is Jesus Christ. As the ships get light to travel by, trust him to help us with all of our problems. We don't have to worry about anything because we know and trust in everything we set out to do.
The channel of life runs deep and has a lot of snags we can encounter. Jesus Christ wants to be with us and show us the way through each day.
Are you looking at the lighthouse for the beacon to get you through the channel? Jesus Christ can be your beacon and guide you through your life. He's standing at the lighthouse waiting for you to get safely in the channel. We need to get in his channel so that we get through the rough seas of life.
Jesus operates the lighthouse, and if you see the beacon shining brightly you can know that he's standing there waiting for you.
