Mississippi native Moorman set to make vocal debut at Carnegie

Native Mississippi Methodist Suzannah Bowie Moorman will sing her New York debut at Carnegie Hall June 14 as soloist of Mass in C Major, No. 1, Wedding Mass by Timothy Michael Powell.

The concert, sponsored by Distinguished Concerts International - New York, will include singers from the North Mississippi United Methodist Church Choir, Brooke Lummus, director, The Baytown Community Chorus, Lee College Chorale and St. Matthew’s UMC Chancel Choir directed by Powell, and St. Mary’s Episcopal Church Chancel Choir. 

“To make my New York debut singing the words of the Nicene Creed is humbling and brings me to my knees. I thank God for his grace and this opportunity,” Moorman said. 
Moorman is the daughter of the Rev. John and Gladys Bowie of Crystal Springs and is a graduate of Millsaps College.
