Madison St. Matthew's announces new leadership for children

Jennifer Heath has been named director of children’s ministry at St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church in Madison.

Heath, who was instrumental in starting the after-school ministry at St. Matthew’s and who most recently served as director of the church’s Weekday Ministries program, began her new role as children’s director in mid-April.

Heath’s career began at neighboring Ridgecrest Baptist Church, where she served as an after-school teacher. She later moved up to become the director of their after-school program, a position she held for 4 H years before moving to St. Matthew’s.

Sherrie Kolak (left) has been promoted to director of Weekday Ministries, and Tiffany “Tina” Johnson (right) will assume the position of assistant director. Kolak has been with St. Matthew’s for five years and has served as assistant director for the past year, while Johnson has been with the program for over a year. Both are approved directors by the Mississippi Department of Health and are accredited by the State of Mississippi.
