A future with hope

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." -- Romans 15:13

I am continuing to learn from the experience of the 2008 General Conference -- from the vibrant worship, strong community, faithful witness, en-riching dialogue, lively debate, missional energy.

Our sense of United Methodism as a global church is increasing. Our desire for numerical and spiritual growth, for expansion of mission, for theological integrity is strong. We celebrate our life together in Christ.

The decisions of the General Conference can be reviewed on line at gc2008.umc.org. I hope that you will read and reflect upon them.

With joy and peace in believing, may our hope abound as we move into the future God is giving. We continue to learn how to be God's faithful people, loving one another and overflowing in love for all persons, extending Christ's mission through the church, and offering help and healing to all in need.

God gives us a future with hope. I thank God that we anticipate this future together.
