South Jackson Cluster starts 2008 with covenant worship service

Churches in the South Jackson cluster got 2008 off to a worshipful start by holding a covenant service on Dec. 30.

The service was held at Spring Ridge United Methodist Church and was the group’s fifth annual winter meeting. The cluster meets every fifth Sunday.

Luther Bates welcomed the group and Kevin Ross led the Christmas music.

The cluster of nine churches works under the theme “Together We Make A Difference.” The group’s mission is to strengthen Christian fellowship as they worship together and to enlarge their outreach ministries as they serve together.

Churches in the cluster include Alta Woods, Emmanuel, Epworth, Forest Hill, Leavell Woods, Middlebrook, Pratt, Springridge and Van Winkle.
