Wilson Research Foundation names executive director

Chris Blount has been named executive director of the Wilson Research Foundation by its Board of Governors.

The Wilson Research Foundation is the fund-raising arm of Methodist Rehabilitation Center in Jackson.

Blount comes to the Wilson Foundation from L-3 Vertex Aerospace in Madison, where he served for the past eight years as director of communications and public affairs. Previously, Blount served on staff as a vice president for the MetroJackson Chamber of Commerce in Jackson.

Blount volunteers for numerous community development and philanthropic organizations including United Way, Rotary and the American Red Cross. He serves as campaign chairman for the United Way of the Capital Area. He is an active member of Madison United Methodist Church.

“Methodist Rehab is a treasure to the state of Mississippi, region and nation,” said Blount. “There are miracles performed here every day, people regaining function after suffering catastrophic injury or illness. I am both humbled and thrilled to lead the foundation that supports one of the most inspiring and worthy efforts I know of.”

A native of south Louisiana, Blount received a bachelor of science degree in business administration and a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Centenary College of Louisiana. He has been a resident of Mississippi for 20 years. He lives in Madison with his wife Lori and two children.
