Bishop appoints Gill to Hattiesburg District

Bishop Hope Morgan Ward announced Jan. 9 the appointment of the Rev. Clint Gill as interim superintendent of the Hattiesburg District effective Feb. 1.

Gill steps into the position following the appointment of the Rev. David Price to pastor of Central United Methodist Church in Meridian.

Gill, who retired in 1996 and lives in Hattiesburg, served as superintendent of the Seashore District and on the Mississippi Conference staff. An elder in full connection since 1963, he served appointments at Rials Creek, Redbone, Byram Spring Ridge, Vicksburg Hawkins, Picayune First, Vicksburg Crawford Street and Hattiesburg Parkway Heights.

Price has served as superintendent of the Hattiesburg District since 2002. He also has served appointments at Pascagoula, Mississippi City, Jackson St. Mark’s, Caswell Springs, Gulfport Trinity, McComb Centenary and Hattiesburg Main Street United Methodist churches.
