Morris to lead 31st Holy Spirit Conference
Dr. George Morris will be among the speakers for the 31st Annual Mississippi Conference on the Holy Spirit.
The event is scheduled for Jan. 18-19 at Louisville First United Methodist Church. The theme is “The Spirit in the Harvest.”
Others schedules to speak include Dr. Bryan Collier, the Rev. Eddie Lee Jones and the Rev. Cecil Williamson. Lee Ann Williamson will lead praises.
Morris began his pastoral ministry in Mississippi on the Rienzi Circuit in 1957. He became an evangelist with the General Board of Evangelism. He taught evangelism at Candler School of Theology for 16 years during which time he founded the World Methodist Evangelism Institute, which trains evangelists from across the world. He now serves as senior professor of world Methodist evangelism.
Collier is founding and lead pastor of The Orchard in Tupelo. The congregation has grown to more than 2,000 in attendance at the Sunday celebration service. Small groups and deep commitment are the backbone of the rapid growth of the congregation. The Orchard sends mission teams to a number of nations each year.
Jones is pastor of Griffin Memorial UMC in Starkville. Jones has led his church to a greater vision to reach out with active men’s and women’s programs and choir.
Cecil Williamson, a general evangelist for 36 years, has brought new life to churches across America. He has trained pastors and planted more than 300 churches in Africa, India and Russia with the assistance of his evangelistic teams and staff evangelists in each nation. His ministry, Christian World Missions, has annually sponsored the Holy Spirit Conference.
Lee Ann Williamson, founder of Grace and Gladness ministry, has participated in the conference for several years. She and Lorie Smith have a ministry popular in bringing renewal to churches across the U.S. Their ministry headquarters is in Blue Springs, Mo.
Pastors may receive one-half continuing educating credit.
