A “can’t miss event” for young people with gifts for ministry or interested in exploring ministry is The Calling.
The event is designed for high school juniors, seniors and college students considering a call to vocational ministry.
The Calling is scheduled for Jan. 25-26 at Lake Tiak O’Khata near Louisville. The cost is $60. Churches are encouraged to sponsor students by paying the registration fee.
The keynote speaker will be the Rev. Troy Benton, a young pastor of a new church plant in Atlanta. Benton started several innovative ministries in the East Ohio Conference and was named the vision leader and president of the Coalition of Young Adult African-American Pastors.
Ginny Owens will be the worship and praise leader. Owens is a renowned Christian artist and will give a concert on Saturday evening.
The event will include workshops, a panel discussion and worship.
The Calling is sponsored by the Mississippi Conference Board of Ordained Ministry. Contact the conference Office of Ministerial Services for more information.
