Conference to study Christian authors

Dr. Ralph C. Wood will be the featured speaker for the first major conference in the Jackson area for Third Millennium Faith.

The focus of the lecture series, “Faith and the Christian Imagination,” will be the writings of creative champions of the Christian faith: C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Flannery O’Connor and G.K. Chesterton.

The conference will be held Nov. 11-13 in partnership with Jackson Christ United Methodist Church, Wesley Biblical Seminary, Wesley College and Mississippi College in several locations:

·         Nov. 11 - 7 p.m., Christ UMC; C.S. Lewis

·         Nov. 12 - Noon, Wesley Biblical Seminary; Chesterton; bring your own brown bag lunch, drinks provided

·         Nov. 12 - 7 p.m., Aven Hall at Mississippi College; Tolkien

·         Nov. 13 - 7 p.m., Wesley Biblical Seminary; O’Connor.


Wood serves as university professor of literature and theology at Baylor University. His works include scholarly articles on these figures, as well as The Gospel According to Tolkein and Flannery O’Connor and the Christ Haunted South.
