Prepare for Christmas with Advent calendar

Mark your calendars now for Dec. 1. This is the beginning of our journey to Bethlehem. This four-week time before Christmas will help us to prepare spiritually to receive again the gift of Jesus Christ into the world.

Our journey to Bethlehem will be guided by our use of our 2007 Family Advent Calendar that is being prepared just for our conference. The focus of this calendar will be the nine community centers found throughout our conference and will include daily scriptures, activities and devotions for the entire family of faith. Together we will walk the road to Bethlehem and celebrate the birth of the newborn king.

The Office of Connectional Ministries plans to offer a copy of this calendar to all pastors appointed to a local church/charge, family and children ministry coordinators and the mission/outreach coordinators of each local church. Additional copies will be available to your local congregation for a minimal cost.

So, do you know the way to Bethlehem? Will you journey with us to Bethlehem to see the newborn baby? I hope you will…it is a journey that is best traveled together.
