Northeastern annual conferences to consider border realignment

Four annual conferences, four locations and four bishops will be part of one discussion on one resolution in an Oct. 6 session of the Western New York, North Central New York, Troy and Wyoming annual conferences.

The session will center on a revised resolution calling upon the Northeastern Jurisdictional Conference in July 2008 to create a new episcopal area from all or portions of these four adjoining and other contiguous conferences. The resolution also requests that the Pennsylvania churches in the Wyoming Conference align with the Central Pennsylvania Conference and the Vermont churches of the Troy Conference align with the New England Conference.

The resolution asks that the realignments and reconfiguration be implemented by 2010. The four sessions will come together through a simulcast broadcast.
