BAY SPRINGS — Paula Jean McBay, 77, a retired social worker, died June 14, 2007, at Jasper County Nursing Home.

She was a retired social worker for the Department of Human Services and a former history teacher. She was a member of Bay Springs United Methodist Church. She volunteered as an adult Sunday school teacher, was a Bay Springs UMC board member; local and district officer in United Methodist Woman, UMW School of Christian Mission leader, Mississippi Conference UMW executive committee, UMC lay leader, Annual Conference delegate, American Association of Retired Persons volunteer for Driver Education and former state president. She was involved in Relay for Life, American Red Cross, Native American Ministries, Mississippi Rural Center, Edwards Street UMC in Hattiesburg and Homemakers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James McBay, and parents James Evan Finch and Myrtle Holifield Finch.

Survivors include: daughters, Cindi Balius of Bay Springs and Beverly Lyons of Mendenhall; sister, Carmen Graves of Ellisville; and one granddaughter.
