Kosciusko Wesley women clean out closets to give aid to others

Inspired by a newsletter article, United Methodist Women of Kosciusko Wesley UMC gave away clothing to those in the community who needed it.

The article “A Channel Rather Than a Reservoir” published in the March Stewardship newsletter pointed out how many people hold onto possessions that aren’t needed when others could use them. Using the motto of “If you haven’t worn it in a year, you probably won’t wear it,” the women gathered hats, shoes, dresses, shirts, skirts and trousers of all sizes.

Fifteen families attended the event and received clothing.

“As we prepared this give-away, we felt the joy of being good stewards and are considering making this an annual event,” said Jean Jackson, UMW president.
