Rush of Fools tops concert sponsored by Columbus UM Men

Rush of Fools will headline the fourth annual fall concert series sponsored by the United Methodist Men of Columbus First United Methodist Church.

Joining Rush of Fools on Aug. 12 at the Trotter Convention Center will be Columbus’ own Plea 33.

The UM Men have sponsored the event since 2003 as a community-building, interdenominational music event. This year other community churches are helping by purchasing blocks of tickets. The goal is to encourage church members to join with other Christians through music and fellowship. Many churches also offer tickets to visitors as a sign of appreciation for their visiting. Youth groups are also making plans for that evening’s concert and inviting many friends to come along.

“Nothing But Nets” will be featured with a love offering being accepted for it. NBN is a grassroots campaign against the spread of malaria in Africa. It was founded by The United Methodist Church among others.

Any church or youth group interested in attending the concert may contact Andy Tentoni at 662-352-1844. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Concert begins at 6:30 with doors opening at 5:45 p.m.
