COTTON PLANT - Ever Idell Dillard Bishop, 87, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at her home after a long illness.


Services were held June 23 at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel in New Albany with the Rev. Jeff Lawrence officiating. Burial was in Well Chapel Cemetery.


Pallbearers were Robert Keith Carlisle, Tommy Bishop, Kris Bishop, Wesley Bishop, Carey Adair, Matt Bishop and Jeremy Bishop.


Mrs. Bishop was the mother of the Rev. Don Bishop of West Point, a pastor in the Mississippi Conference of The United Methodist Church.


Mrs. Bishop was born Feb. 6, 1920, to William Watson and Pearl Lee Black Dillard of Pontotoc. She married Ernest Thomas Bishop in 1937; he preceded her in death.


Other survivors include children Martha Wise, Thomas Bishop, Malcolm “Mack” Bishop and Hazel Cooper all of Myrtle; Sarah Adair and George “Bill” Bishop of Cotton Plant, and Toie Simpson and Ruth Hearn of New Albany; 31 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
