Aldersgate celebrates ministry

 Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Jackson celebrates 42 years in ministry with special activities this month. The theme is “A Call to Faithfulness.” 

Family Fun Day will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 19 with a health fair, games and prizes for all ages and a picnic on the grounds. There is no charge. 

A special worship service will be held at 11 a.m. May 20 with Dr. Reginald T.W. Nichols delivering the anniversary message. He is president of Piney Woods School. A reception will follow. 

Family Night Out at Piccadilly Restaurant will be in honor of “Aldersgate Day.” It will take place at 6 p.m. May 25. 

Children and youth are participating in an art and essay competition about “Honoring Godly Heroes.” Prizes will be awarded.
