Columnist to release new book

Lamar Massingill, pastor of Richton United Methodist Church, has released his second book, Soul Places.

While the book is now available through the Magnolia Gazette, the official release of the publication will be held during a reception on April 11. That event will be held from 2-4 p.m. at the Magnolia Public Library.

Soul Places is a compilation of writings Massingill has done as a columnist for the Gazette, the Mississippi United Methodist Advocate and other publications during his career. Columns are broken into various topics and touch on every aspect of life.

The work can be used throughout the year by anyone needing a practical guide to using faith to overcome life’s challenges or to celebrate life’s victories. Massingill writes in terms and formats that are easy to understand and apply to everyday life.

The book contains 62 columns personally selected by the author.

The book is now available for $19.95 plus tax and shipping by contacting the Magnolia Gazette at 601-783-2441.
