Gathering reaches out to Nettleton seniors

"The Gathering" is a ministry of Carolina United Methodist Church in Nettleton. It is a Christ-centered ministry providing spiritual, educational and recreational opportunities for seniors.

 

Participants meet the fourth Tuesday of every month at the Carolina United Methodist Church Christian Life Center Building. The programs each month offer special guests, food, games, prizes, fellowship and a time of worship.

 

The first Gathering was held Aug. 29 and featured a free health fair sponsored by Gilmore Memorial Hospital. On Oct. 24, special guests at the Gathering included Kay Bain of the Momin’ Show and Thomas Conwill who presented a pictorial history of the Carolina community.

 

Members of the Gathering team include Guy Pettit, Ernestine Hall, Margie Coggins, Wanda Wiygul, Debbie Criddle, Sandra Cox, Susan Presley, Mary Hodges, Patti Powell, Curtis Hall, Harry Presley, Bud Wiygul, Gayla Hodges, Billy Cox and the Rev. Jimmy Criddle. Also on the team are Kaye Gray and Patsy Pettit.
