Are you ready to ride? The second annual Circuit Ride bike tour sponsored by the Mississippi Conference is May 12.
United Methodists including Bishop Hope Morgan Ward will pedal the beautiful Longleaf Trace between Hattiesburg and Sumrall.
Longleaf Trace is a converted railroad bed with no hills and no traffic. Peddle the smooth roadway at your own pace, riding the entire 30 miles or any distance you choose. All are invited to participate - clergy and laity, young and old, United Methodists and guests.
Registration is at 9:30 a.m., and the ride will begin at 10 a.m. Rest stations with snacks and drinks will be set up at 4-to-5-mile intervals. The Bike Rack of Jackson will provide a mechanic, and staff golf carts will patrol for those who need assistance.
Longleaf rents bikes if you don’t have one. To reserve a bike, call 601-450-5247.
You may register the day of the ride for $10, but only those who pre-registered will receive shirts.
For more information, contact Rev. Jim Biedenharn, planning committee chair at 601.624.5417.
The goal for 2007 is to have 75-100 participants.
Planning Committee members include Biedenharn, Joyce White, Karen Jones, Scott Cox, Karen Koons, Don Patterson and Curtis James.
