SEJ schedules eco-friendly event

United Methodists concerned about taking care of the Earth might want to consider attending the weekend conference “Caring for Creation, Eco-Justice for the Environment and People.”

The event is scheduled for April 12-15 at Lake Junaluska, N.C.

Participants will discover:

  • How lack of care impacts the environment and our health
  • How your faith and residential communities can get involved in environmental care.

This event is for clergy and laity. Speakers and workshops will address how the faith community can promote justice for the earth and all people.

One of the offered events is a tour of a home in the area that uses a wind turbine for energy needs.

A wide variety of workshops will be offered.

Cost is $200 for a team of three or $90 per individual. Housing on site is $221 for a single (room and nine meals), $165 per person for a double and $145 for a triple room. Those participating Friday-Sunday pay $154, $118 or $103. Call 1-800-222-4930 for reservations.
