Dr. Terry Teykl will bring his Acts 29 Prayer Encounter Seminar to the east campus of Ocean Springs St. Paul United Methodist Church on March 10. The seminar runs from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. with a half-hour break for lunch. Nursery assistance will be provided. Next Week

Lay Speaking Ministries holds its first Lay Leadership School of 2007 on March 16-17 at Camp Wesley Pines in Gallman. Richard Henley, East Jackson District director of Lay Speaking, will teach the Basic Lay Speaking course. Three advanced courses will be offered:

• Lay Speakers Interpret to Others Our United Methodist Heritage,” Bonnie Dillon, instructor.

• “Lay Speakers Lead in Stewardship,” Phillip Heidelberg, instructor.

• “From Your Heart to Theirs: Delivering the Effective Sermon,” Tony Franks, instructor.

The deadline for pre-registration has passed, but on-site registration is available. On-site registration fees are $100 if you are spending the night or $80 for commuters and must be paid with cash or money order.

 

This Month

The Mississippi Course of Study Session II meets March 30-31 at Millsaps College. The Mississippi Course of Study meets in four sessions each year, each session covering two weekends. Attendance at both weekends is required to complete one course.

Next Month

Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday April 1 and concludes April 8 with Easter Sunday. The week commemorates Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem for Passover, his subsequent arrest and crucifixion (Good Friday) and resurrection on Easter.
