District days

It is a joy for me to come to the 11 districts. I learn whenever I am with you, and I am grateful for your wisdom and insight and hopes for ministry together.

This will be my fifth round of district days. In the fall of 2004, Mike and I came to meet you and to begin our ministry with you. In the second round, we invited leaders toward Congregations for Children. Next we gleaned insight from the Gospel of Mark. Most recently, we considered the meaning of the gospel feast, particularly in light of 2007 Lenten plans toward next steps in racial reconciliation.

In the next district days, we will focus on strengthening ministry in each local church and on the starting of new churches. Laity as well as clergy are invited to participate in these gatherings:

  •  Senatobia —  Jan. 17
  •  New Albany —  Jan. 18
  •  West Jackson — Jan. 29
  •  Tupelo — Jan. 30
  •  Starkville — Feb. 1
  •  East Jackson — Feb. 11
  •  Brookhaven — Feb. 12
  •  Greenwood — Feb. 25
  •  Meridian — Feb. 27
  •  Seashore — March 5
  •  Hattiesburg — March 6
