Writer to appear at CFM events

Mississippi Methodists can meet noted author, Kent Ira Groff, at two special events this month.

On Nov. 18 the pastor/writer/spiritual director will lead an exploration of writing as a means of personal and spiritual growth at “Writing Your Way Home:  Pathways to Communication and Contemplation.” The workshop begins at 9 a.m. in the Leggett Center on the campus of Millsaps College.

Groff will autograph books and meet readers at 2 p.m. Nov. 17 at Cokesbury Bookstore on County Line Road in Ridgeland.

Groff is the author of Active Spirituality: A Guide for Seekers and Ministers, Journeymen: A Spiritual Guide for Men (and for Women Who Want to Understand Them); The Soul of Tomorrow’s Church: Weaving Spiritual Practices in Ministry Together; and What Would I Believe if I Didn’t Believe Anything? A Handbook for Spiritual Orphans

An ordained Presbyterian minister, Groff is founder of Oasis Ministries for Spiritual Development, an organization that seeks to renew the spiritual life of individuals, congregations, and institutions.
