Marvin UMC plans Open House Month events


Marvin United Methodist Church in Florence plans a busy September with three special events. They include: 

  • Sanctuary Reconsecration Service and Homecoming on Sept. 10. New East Jackson District Superintendent Giles Lindley will preach as the church celebrates its sanctuary restoration. The Rev. Don Patterson will assist in the service. A traditional combined worship service at 11 a.m. will be followed by a covered dish lunch. 
  • Open House on Sept. 16. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the sanctuary will be open to the public. 
  • Author and family psychologist John Rosemond will speak on Sept. 17. Rosemond will preach at both worship services (8:30 a.m. and 11a.m.) and from 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. will speak on “Parenting the Strong-Willed Child.” No registration fee will be charged, but a love offering will be taken.
