Katrina remembrance set for Aug. 26

One year after Hurricane Katrina, the Seashore District will host a Katrina Remembrance Service.

Plans call for the service to be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 26 on the grounds of Seashore United Methodist Assembly in Biloxi. Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and a picnic lunch. Beverages will be provided.

Hurricane Katrina slammed into the Mississippi Gulf Coast almost one year ago on Aug. 29, 2005, leaving hundreds dead and causing billions of dollars in damage.
