South Union holds 135th campmeeting


South Union Campground in Choctaw County held its 135th campmeeting July 21-26.


Leadership included two men who grew up in Ackerman as best of friends and participated in South Union Campmeeting as young people.


The Rev. Buddy Smith of American Family Association and Mt. Pleasant UMC of Tremont was the preacher and Derry Brunt of Grenada First UMC was leader. The pianists were Elizabeth Rester during the day and Janees Garey at the evening services and Sunday morning.


Tommy Hamill of Macon shared his testimony and story of Escape in Iraq. In addition, the Joyful Noise Quartet sang on July 23. The Wells Family from Noxapater sang on July 25.
