MERIDIAN — Lurlilne Johnson Cook, 95, a clergy spouse, died May 13, 2006 at Beverly Health Care Broadmoor.


Services were held May 15 at Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Harrison officiating. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg. Pallbearers were the Rev. Jimmy Carr, the Rev. Jim Wall, Jimmy Chandler, Joe Johnson, Dr. Bo Marsalis and Gary Marsalis. James F. Webb Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Mrs. Cook was an active member of Central United Methodist Church until her illness. She was a member of the Robert Matheny Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Women and was a member of the Bible Study Club.


She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. John H. Cook; her parents, Walter and Cora Thompson Johnson; brothers, Lamar Johnson, Mortimer Johnson and Walter Martin Johnson and a sister, Zula J. Williamson.


Survivors include: sisters, Lillian J. Rhodes of Philadelphia, Lucille J. Reeves of Madison and Dr. Sula J. Marsalis of Meridian.
