Walden Chapel hosts health fair


served as host for a community health fair sponsored by Ruby Falls Martin and Central Mississippi Rural Development Network as part of the “Life Smart Initiative.”

After an opening prayer by host pastor the Rev. Annie Williams, Martin gave an overview of the network. Several organizations provide presentations on a variety of health topics.

Sta-Home Health Agency had on-going blood pressure, blood sugar and weight screenings during the workshop. Also, healthy snacks were offered to participants.

Topics offered included:

Diabetes, presented by Kathleen Biggs

Herbal and natural substances, Walter Wilson of Unicity

Tobacco prevention, Malisa Griffin

Fitness and wellness, Willie B. Davis of the Wellness Center at Mallory Clinic in Lexington

Skin care and health juices, the Rev. and Mrs. Nathaniel Studway of Rose Hill Baptist Church.

A question-and-answer session was held and door prizes were presented.
