Thirteen forums are scheduled this spring to inform Mississippi Conference clergy about medical benefits issues that will come before the Annual Conference in June.
The first sessions are set for March 20 and the final event is planned for April 6.
“This year there will be very few changes,” said David Stotts, conference benefits officer. “Although the changes are small in number, there are some significant coverage changes that will be beneficial to everyone. The active clergy will be more affected than the retirees. For that reason, I highly encourage all active and retiree participants and their covered spouses to attend.”
In response to a request by the Clergy Spouses organization, more evening meetings have been scheduled.
The new Clergy Retirement Security Program (CRSP) that goes into effect on Jan. 1 will be discussed. “Because of its impact on the retirement plan and the apportionments, I encourage everyone to attend to hear that discussion,” Stotts said.
