SoSA leader says thanks for welcome

1/18/2006

Editor,

I would like to thank, Bishop Hope Morgan Ward and the Mississippi Conference of The United Methodist Church for their prayers, suggestions, help and financial support in opening a regional office for The Society of St. Andrew in Mississippi.

I would also like to thank all you who have so warmly welcomed me to my new position as the regional office director for the state.

In my short tenure here, I have met a number wonderful folks that want to lend their time, talents and financial support to SoSA’s goals of feeding the hungry and someday eliminating hunger in America. In the weeks and months ahead, I hope to meet more of you and personally share the SoSA story and progress. In the mean time, I call upon all of you to select a SoSA representative in each church throughout the state. Someone that believes that helping to feed the hungry is not only an opportunity to do God’s work, but one that he calls us to do. This individual or couple will energetically carry the SoSA banner for your congregation. They will help encourage continued support and volunteerism from their congregation and have the latest information on SoSA’s activities and opportunities in their area and across the state.

Please contact me if you would like to be the one or if you would like more information on being the Society of St. Andrew representative in you church. Thanks to all of you for continued support of this work that we at The Society of St. Andrew humbly do in Christ’s name.
